Sorry to the Anonymous dude who should be credited for the Tag line...
So to begin, Ah I just hate to write reviews for a bad movie but had to for this one.
So the story begins,.
After the Debacle of Vandhan Vendran and Rowthiram(Two most useless movies of Jeeva) this movie was the first that me and my friends booked to watch on the first day and history has repeated itself.
With all the hype around the bacterial kolaveri song and the well cut teasers/trailers, even if the movie was a little good it would have made it large(sorry Royal stag!).!
This movie, which is the directorial debut for Aishwarya Dhanush, follows the same old formula for Artistic films made recently, Feel good first half and a medical complication in the second half!. No no.. no split personality disorder this time but a Bipolar disorder(Now I get Y Dhanush was good in physics in this movie!!).
The second half of the movie has the Mayakkam Enna effect and Dhanush, though his acting is splendid, doing the same kinda role after Mayakkam Enna does not Impress.
Shruthi Hassan is just awesome as a school girl and the physics and biology of the romance between the two actors is worth a mention. Sadly after the school life the only thing she does is cry and made me remember Kamal Hassan in Nayagan, Not that she cries like him but just cries for a whole lotta time!!
Sivakarthikeyan though comes only in the first half, had the audience in splits with his witty one liners.
Except for SundarRamu(Yes, yes,that Mayakkam Enna friend)others have nothing much to do.
Music, the only exceptional aspect of the movie, Anirudh has done an excellent Job, had striking BGM where ever needed,used Silence and underplayed the music at the right places. Aishwarya did not do any justice to the awesome tracks Anirudh had given, the songs are misplaced and Badly picturized. Like for Instance Po nee po song comes when Dhanush goes to Sabari Mala .. Dai...
Added to these frustrations there are a few illogical and unjustified sequences in the film which tears the movie apart, like getting married in a night club!! and the intent for Suicide totally not acceptable and hence don't get the audience to feel , it rather irked them to Mock it.
PS : Never go to a night show to AGS , One drunk as@#$%e was blabbering about the love anthem and Sachin anthem through out the movie!!!
The Whole movie felt like a Selva Raghavan movie without the glamour and the intensity, which sadly are the only two USP's of Selva.
BTW why the name 3?? Still don't get it, as per cinema.in's write up it is the 3 stages of life, if so the second stage, ie during love has just 2 scenes before they get married!!
As my friend aptly told, one fine night after a couple of rounds they made a song which leaked became a super hit and though Why not make a movie and here it is.... and we are thinking .. "tha! lost the 120 roobes".
