Nadunisi Naigal - Obnoxiously Stale

Goutham Vasudev Menon’s next after the breezy and romantic VTV happens to be a Psychic Thriller as the Promos project about the film and it happens to be one.

Goutham has dealt with the concept of Split personality in this film, which is evident and does not surprise the audience when it was supposed to. Moreover the concept of split personality is now become very stale after Chandramukhi and Anniyan and a dozen English movies.

Still there are a few points to appreciate in the film.

The cinematography is awesome and also has tried a few mad-angles - Good. Sameera Reddy is hot and Sexy, a treat to watch but no vulgarity. First timer Veera’s acting is noteworthy.

Finally the best thing for me in the movie is its auhenticity and reality. For instance the Life-line hospital,ECR road,OMR road,Tidel park,Sathyam Cinemas are real and places that we vist in our day-to-day life in chennai. Even the phone calls, when dialed goes for three beeps before ringing unlike other movies. These small intircacies make the film connect with the audience.

Apart from these there is nothing much to blabber about this movie. Yes the Movie does not have any Back ground score except sound effects. I never really missed the Music, Not because of the directorial greatness but the scenes donot require music as all the scenes involve shouting, groaning and crying.!!!.

So my verdict for this thriller of Goutham would be, People who like Psychic movies and also liked No country for Old Men and liked the psych factor in it can defintely watch the movie. Others can watch the movie at your own risk.!

The bottomline is that Goutham tried to showcase something different to the audience but it is the obnoxiusly stale concept of Split personality and Child abuse, So fails to facinate…….
